FAQ frequently asked questions
How did Porn for Puritans come about?
Playwrights Leigh Tomlinson and Tim Wardell met while doing improvisational comedy with a Dallas-based troupe and immediately hit on each oth—er, uh, hit it off. It was during one of their rehearsals that Tim had a flash of inspiration sparked by a bit on the difference in dating styles between men and women. Six weeks, many conversations, and countless sexual innuendos later, the full-length theatrical version of Porn for Puritans was born.
Is Porn for Puritans about pornography or puritans?
Existentially yes. Otherwise not really. Although both are mentioned in the show. To fully understand you'll just have to buy a ticket and come see for yourself. How long is the show?
The show runs about 90 minutes. There is no intermission.
Does your production contain language that some people might find inappropriate?
There are few obscenities in the show (about 3) and a fair amount of frank talk about sex. Overall, the language is relatively tame but the subject matter is clearly geared toward adults.
Does your production contain characters in sexual situations?
Yes, Yes, Oh God Yes! ...Porn for Puritans is about relationships, sex, dating, sex, love, and sex (but not necessarily in that order). Although it is a comedy, prudes, virgins, and conservative republicans might be uncomfortable with some of the material.
If your show was a movie, how would it be rated?
F for funny! But seriously... Porn for Puritans is about adult relationships and is definitely PG-13 for adult situations and language. The material is not appropriate for younger audiences.
